Regardless of the date of travel, all confirmed bookings made prior to 1 April 2019 will not be subjected to the price increase due to the Levy.

On-demand Passenger Transport Levy

A message from our managing director:

With 2019 well underway, we appreciate your support as we continue to invest in our operations to bring you the best in service, quality and solutions for your ground transport requirements.

The Department of Transport for Western Australia has announced that the new Transport (Road Passenger Services) Act 2018 will have an impact on all on-demand transport providers.

The Act includes a mandatory Levy, which will  be applied to the fare of all transport bookings for vehicles that seat less than 12 passengers. This includes Charter, Taxis’ and Uber.

The On-demand passenger transport Levy (the Levy) will fund the buyback of the Perth metropolitan taxi plates. The Levy is temporary.

The Levy will be 10% of every fare to a maximum of $10 per trip. It will commence on 1 April 2019 and is anticipated to be in place for four to five years. Therefore from this time, you will see an increase of 10% to all bookings to reflect the Levy.

The Levy will not be applicable to: 

  • Vehicles carrying 12 or more passengers
  • Bookings for transport outside of Western Australia
  • Bookings that begin or end outside the Perth metropolitan area including the Peel region.

We understand the impact and disruption that this government Levy may cause. Please be assured that we have made every effort to avoid being included as part of this Levy.

Perth Firefighters’ fundraising achievements

Congratulations to Perth’s firefighters on the launch of their 2019 calendar!

Yet again, the launch party for the Perth Firefighters calendar, held at The Camfield, was a huge success.

Did you know the organisers of the event are full-time firefighters, who volunteer their time to put on this amazing show each year?

They don’t do this just for fun. The reason behind the calendar is to help out children who are having to be under care at Perth Children’s Hospital. Thanks to all the Firefighters involved and the people of Perth, over the past year they raised $117,575 for the Perth Children’s Hospital Burns Service!

Angela (located at the front of the photo) and her friends were VIP’s for the night with winning the competition held by the Perth Firefighters Calendar team in the lead up to the event. Their VIP treatment included being driven to The Camfield in Hughes’s Audi Q7. At the back you will see Glenn, their fabulous chauffeur, who ensured they were given the royal treatment along the way.
